There are few things I like about 4e, very few. However the things I do like are more of the basic concepts then their actual implantation, such as rewriting the basic classes for more internal balance and enjoyable progression. Every level a treat ;D . To that end I've begun rewriting the current PHB classes from the SRD along the lines of Modern's base classes. I feel the Talent/Bonus-Feat structure provides the best mix for giving players goodies (and more feats) while providing a way to balance the classes. My current efforts are focused on cramming the existing classes into that structure with as little alteration to the way the currently work as possible. Obviously the Fighter receives the most benefit, but really doing anything to the fighter is plus. The Wizard and other spell casters are being rebuilt using the Spell Point system in Unearthed Arcana. The current documents are very rough drafts and not even out of development. Class Basics: This doc is a collection of what I consider to be basic class mechanics and how I'm (intending) redoing them to fit the new scheme. Current Classes Barbarian - development, newCleric - development Druid - development, new Fighter - development Rogue - development Wizard - development 2 Extra Feats - development, new

Personally I like the generic classen from UA very much. By using them and adding talent trees, you can easily modell almost any class.

Gotta break the current classes down into talent/feat trees first . I've done piddly conversion attempts with the generics before, mostly into d20 BESM while trying to create a more unified point buy DnD. However I thought one of the points of 3.75 was to keep as much compatibly as possible with the rest of 3e while addressing various issues, including class balance. Certainly a talent based system would make playing with the generics a viable option. The most frustrating part is looking over all the Dragon Magazines and supplement books and wanting to include all the variant stuff but being unable to because of copyright restrictions. For example take the variant fighters in Dragon 310, most of which would make decent talent trees.

A revision to the Wizard and uploads for the Cleric, plus new feat ideas. I'll give credit were it's due, beastman had a brilliant idea on how to revise the turning rules. So much so that I would very much like to(and have) included it in this project. I'll pull it if beastman objects. 3.5 Solutions [Turning]
